After publishing a guide on the official website of the Argentine government where cryptomonies were recognized and the most basic concepts related to them were explained, the government has decided to withdraw it. When accessing the guide’s link, the page tells us that „This page or the site is not available. Please check the address or come back later.“
However, it is still possible today to access the information mentioned in the government guide by reviewing the history of the website, which allows us to confirm that the information (and the position) that the Argentine government presented to the public at a given time.
The guide, now unpublished, mentioned crypto-currencies as „a type of digital currency that can be used to save, buy and sell over the Internet“ and added that crypto-currencies can be used „like any other method of payment“.
The Argentine government publishes a guide to cryptomonies
Why did the Argentine government eliminate the guide to cryptomoney?
To have a real reason why the government of Argentina decided to eliminate the guide it would be necessary to have a direct contact with the government, however, despite the search of this media, these comments have not been obtained at the time of publication of this note.
In order to obtain some clarity on this matter, we have talked to Nicolás Litvinoff, an Argentinean economist and expert on the cryptomoney market within the South American nation.
Litvinoff told us, as a theory and possible interpretation to the events that took place, that the guide contradicts the category that had previously given it to the cryptomoney as a financial asset, because according to what the publication established it was mentioned as a currency of exchange.
Litvinoff clarified that the first interpretation, the one that understands Crypto Comeback Pro as a financial asset, is the one that currently governs within the Argentine legal framework, and therefore the already unpublished guide was contrary to the legal provisions.
