This needs to stop...
Its campaign has killed at least 312 people in Lebanon, the vast majority civilians, and displaced half a million. Thirty-two Israeli troops and civilians have been killed. I agree with Israel's right to defend itself, but where does defending itself stop and punishing innocents begin? Trackback Pings

I call bullshit. How can they claim that the vast majority were civilians? Is that what the Hezbollah spokesman told them? Do you think that Hezbollah gives a crap about civilians when they indiscriminately fire rockets into a city of 1.5 million people? At least the Israeli's warn the people of Lebanon when and where they are going to strike and give civilians a chance to get out. And this isn't the right wing crazy talking to you. This is the "put myself in their shoes" crazy talking at you. Let's say that Mexico had a quasi official military group that controlled a good portion of that country (with some puppetry from Cuba), with a significant number of representatives in the Mexican Congress, and with head quarters in Mexico City. And let's say that group came across our internationally recognized border and killed soldiers on patrol, kidnapped others, and then had an ambush on their side of the border for the soldiers who dare try to recover their brethren, and then esclated the crisis by firing rockets into Phoenix and Alberquerque. What kind of response would you expect from us? Posted by: Marty at July 21, 2006 12:19 PM 'Is that what the Hezbollah spokesman told them?' No its the facts you dumb tosser. Here in europe we get to see pictures of the dead children. Israel are dropping bombs, and when you drop bombs people die.(wow)It just so happens that a lot of innocent people are dying there. Precision guided missiles mean diddly when you are fighting a belief. To quote naomi klein Can you honestly say that the people who are directly effected by this war (on both sides) are any closer to achiving a lasting peace? Posted by: datsun at July 21, 2006 02:03 PM Wow- dead children. You wear that like a badge of honor. Are no children dying in Israel from the missles flying? How about the Hospital that was hit in Haifa? How about the two Arab children(Israeli citizens) that were killed in Northern Israel by Hezbollah rockets attacks a couple of days ago? Did you get to see them too? How much of THAT destruction do you get to see in Europe, oh great enlightened one? It seems that all the reporting you see is done from Beiruit, yet aren't missiles traveling both ways? Not to worry though. We get most of our reporting from Beruit too, and most are just too lazy to look for news that shows both sides of this ugliness. And by the way- have you noticed that Israel's tendency almost since it's inception is to react to attacks? When no one attacks them, there is a lasting peace. (Until the next attack of course.) Posted by: Marty at July 21, 2006 03:33 PM yes missiles are flying both ways. Posted by: datsun at July 24, 2006 01:09 PM Post a comment
