« Still waiting for my Treo | Main | New Lottery Scam »

July 12, 2006
Are you suffering BS fatigue yet?

I am... I mean who didn't know it was Rove. Who didn't know he would get off scott free? The whole of the Right Blogsphere has spent the last three years making Joe Wilson the bad guy. None of Novak's revealations surprises me one bit...

Almost three years ago exactly - on July 14, 2003 - Bob “Douchebag of Liberty” Novak revealed the identity of a secret CIA agent named Valerie Plame, effectively shutting down her undercover operation tracking the black market for WMD in Europe. Novak claimed that Bush Administration officials had revealed Plame’s identity to him.

We have believed from the getgo that within hours of learning that Novak was going to publish Plame’s name, President Bush knew exactly who in his administration had done the leaking and that statements he made thereafter were carefully parsed to protect himself and the leaker from future liability.

Now that Novak has confirmed that it was Karl Rove who revealed the name to him of secret CIA agent Valerie Plame, it is a good time to look back at the two key statements made by President Bush in the wake of the revelation. The president’s strategically nuanced wording makes President Clinton’s widely derided statement, “It depends on what the definition of ‘is’ is,” look like incisive explication.

On September 30, 2003, at a brief Q&A with reporters, President Bush offered a carefully memorized non-statement about the consequences the purportedly unknown leaker would suffer...

And as usual, despite the obvious scumbaggery involved in this whole affair, opinions are split down party lines.

Associated Press, Public Eye, Villainous Company, Shakespeare's Sister, Confederate Yankee, FishBowlDC, The All Spin Zone, PostWatch and The Strata-SphereThink Progress, David Corn, The Next Hurrah, Crooks and Liars, TalkLeft, The Huffington Post, The Raw Story, Needlenose, Macsmind, Decision '08 and The Volokh Conspiracy

When did we stop being Americans. When did we get so jaded that it was a High Crime to get a blow job in the White House, and yet NOTHING to out a CIA agent?

So I guess the real question now is that if everyone agrees that Karl Rove is the slimeball with loose lips, why didn't Fitzgerald charge him the crime that he was investigating?

At least that's what I would like to know.

No, another official blabbed about "Wilson's wife over at CIA got him the job." Rove said "yeah, that's who did it." A trip to Who's Who got her name, and a call to CIA confirmed her employment.

BTW, Plame's cover was actually blown by convicted traitor Aldrich Ames years and years ago -- that was why she was pulled back from overseas.

Obviously the writer of this post didn't read to carefully about which he/she is writing. But I guess we all hear what we want to hear.

I assume you mean Rove not being the original source, Marty?
Doesn't really matter does it? He confirmed it.
