The Big Two Mil!

Just a note to thank all of you who have continued to support ISOU over the past year, especially since the blog went down last April.

Sometimes in the next few days, we will hit 2 Million Hits. To some this is not a big deal, especially those who rightfully consider the number of visitors a more meaningful number. We have a hit to visitor ration of 65%, meaning that the number of unique visitors, based on historical data is about 65% of the hit count, meaning that we have had approximately 1.3 million unique visitors over the last two years, still not a bad number.

But forgive me if I celebrate my 2 million hits. Its been a struggle at times to keep this thing going, and on more than one occasion I have considered giving it up. There was a time when this place was kind of a family with Conservatives, Liberals and Moderates all hanging out, debating the issues and just having fun. That has changed. We have changed. The well to some degree has been poisoned, and for that I am truly sorry. I can accept some responsibility for it, as I have grown more and more dissolutioned and more vocal about the failings of our Administration. At the same time, I have seen some of my conservative friends develop BUNKER SYNDROME, drifting further and further from reality as their own disillusionment kicks in.

For those who stuck around, I just want to offer a humble thanks. May the next year be just as successful with half the drama...

I sure as hell hear you in re. poisoning the well - the political climate on the 'Net is well and truly fucked for good, IMHO. Well, IMO, anyway - we know there ain't no humble up in these parts, right? :-)

Look, bro, I'm as conservative as they come in terms of my own policy preferences, and I'll be the first to admit that the "netroots" piss me off to no end. There's really no point in talking about why that is, since I'm certain the right wing blogs piss you off to the same extent. What really bothers me is the number of friendships I've seen come to a bad end over this bullshit.

I can't help but think that's a bad thing, regardless of how deeply invested the various parties are in their political belief systems.

Don, there is one thing we can both be proud of... And that is that people like you and Boyd, and Jay Tea, myself and a few others have managed to transcend the bullshit and just be Bros, even when we occassionaly think the other person is full of shit at times. I have known you less time than the others, but I consider you a Bro none the less, and a good one. So lets not let the shit get us down. You need to encourage me to post more Costa Rican women pics! LOL!
