The Balance of Power...
Imagine, if you will, that evidence surfaces that the President of the United States, or the Secretary of State, or even some minor member of the White House staff, was committing crimes. Imagine if the Congress declared that they wanted to investigate those allegations, and the White House responded by saying that it would be a violation of the "separation of powers" for the Congress to investigate anything that happens in the White House. I actually happen to agree with Dean, but I have seen enough cases of stonewalling and "executive priveledge," from this White House and others, to know they knife cuts both ways. Our system seems to me, to be fundamentally broken. Never in our history, it seems, has our constitution been so under attack. Never has there been more debate about the powers of the three branches of government. I have come to the conclussion that one Party having control of two of the three branches, and the philosophy of the Court, is NOT a good thing. There is no balance of power. I agree, he should be really, charged with high treason, we need to all organize more, communicating instead of hiding behind the keyboards, that is the only way to take any kind of power back. Posted by: EA at May 30, 2006 07:22 AM Post a comment
