I don't really want to install any more Google software on my computer. If it were browser-based, that might be a different story, but I have enough crap installed here without adding another program I don't even know that I'll find useful, much less actually needing it.

Underwhelmed is an understatement.

Google is dipping their greedy little hands into too many honey pots and what they're coming out with is half-assed crap that does us no good. They should stick to what they know (Picassa, for one) and only come out with more "helpful" tools when they're going to actually help us as much (if not more) than a comparable tool.

Thought you might be interested in checking out www.diigo.com. It’s about "Social Annotation" and it is delicious/google notebook combined: clippings, tagging, caching. And a lot more — highlights and sticky notes right on any part of a webpage to serve as a personal reminder or even as a way to interact & exchange thoughts with other readers right on the very same webpage you're reading.

Besides a toolbar, many of the unique productivity functions (highlight, annotate, forward, & bookmark) are also nicely enabled by a browser button without any installation.

It is still under closed beta. I would like to invite you to try it out. We’d love to have your participation and hear what you think!

i have been using clipmarks.com for the last year and it seems like many are drawing comparisons to googles notebook. personally, i dont think notebook can even touch clipmarks functionality... wondering what you think...
