If You're Going to Call Me Out...
Sorry to make this a separate post, David, but for some reason, anytime I try to comment on this site I'm blocked for questionable comment. But this is also a case where I felt the need to figure out where the hell you're coming from. Hell- this even prompted me to dig up my guest posting credentials. My attempted response to something you wrote is below the fold. Damn, David- you're calling me out [in this post ]for not speaking out on "about blatant racism in the conservasphere" because of the Duke case? I haven't even followed the Duke case until I decided to try and figure out what the f--k you're talking about [in that post.] I don't know if you noticed, but I don't write or speak out about much of anything anymore except for industry advice (painlesshomeloans.blogspot.com) and tearing apart Oliver's talking points. And I'm sorry David, but your disillusion with me really doesn't mean squat to me in this case. In fact, I have no idea why you chose to call me out in this instance- what? for my failure to read an obscure blog that I've never even heard of? And the post you point to shows not even an inkling of racism. Sure the writer seems brings up the past actions of the victim (who from the post you're bitchin about I didn't even realize she was black until I went and read the Front Page article that has your panties in a bunch), but I'm sure any defense lawyer would do the same thing. Not my style to scutinize the alleged victims past actions, but it's not unheard of to so. And what? Am I supposed to suddenly scour the blogosphere to find racism everywhere you do and speak out about it? Well you know David- when I see blatant racism, I'll certainly speak out about it. But I don't quite look at the world and automatically assume racism about as many things as you do. Yeah- David when I read the Front Page article you referenced, I certainly wasn't happy about the tone of the article. In fact, the writer's use of the term "black party girl" and "black girl" had the hair on the back of my neck standing up. In fact, my first thought was, "what and idiot." Plus I'm not real fond of looking at the actions of a true rape victim, no matter how stupid those actions may have been. And if she is truly a rape victim, I hope the perps go to jail. If a crime is proven, throw the book at them. But I'm sorry- Niewert's little article pushing the mantra of a racist conservative blogosphere and the indictment of Conservatives and Republicans as racists in every situation is the typical tactic of the of the near left, the far left, and Democrats, and progressives in general. It's the easiest way to end the debate about any issue- "label them racists." Don't listen to those conservative bloggers- they're just a bunch of racists. Bullshit. David- I don't defend racism. Ever. Nor do any of the conservative bloggers I read, or I wouldn't read them. But please remember- I'm only talking about REAL blatant racism. Because I don't defend crying wolf with racism either. It waters down the meaning of something that your parents and my parents and our relatives and ancestors and you and I fought and still fight too damn hard against. But please let me end this with one request. If you're going to criticize me in the future, please make it about something I wrote- not things I don't write. Because I just dont' write that much about that many things anymore, and unless you have some damn good psychotelekenetic powers and can read my mind, you have no idea what I'm thinking.

I am glad you got that off your chest. Posted by: David Anderson at April 9, 2006 06:39 PM David, Marty, I have nothing to say about this particular topic, but I just wanted to add that I've had my run-ins with your filtering software. My comment about DeLay had to be broken in two and constantly re-phrased until it finally passed muster. That's why the phrasing might've seen a bit off. Just thought I'd toss in that fact, as it might be generally relevant. J. Posted by: Jay Tea at April 9, 2006 06:53 PM It even blocks me sometimes. I have no idea what is wrong, and Angel, who used to do my MT stuff is semi retired. The only thing I know that works is to use typekey, and it will always post.
