Alternate Realities

After writing this post today, I found this one, on Crooks and Liars:

To an objective observer, it would seem that this last week was a very bad one for Bush followers.

Iraq is on the verge of total sectarian war and collapse. Multiple conservatives have declared that Bush lost the war. A slew of new polls show that Bush's presidency is dying, with all but the most blindly loyal followers having abandoned him and decided that he's untrustworthy. Even a huge majority of the U.S. military now believe that it's time to leave Iraq. And the Senate Intelligence Committee looks prepared -- with the support of at least two Republican Senators -- to hold investigative hearings into the Administration's warrantless, lawless eavesdropping on Americans.

But the notion that this was a very bad week for Bush is only true for those who live in the world of facts. Bush followers are lucky. They have an outstanding capacity to create their own fantasy world where any facts which reflect negatively on the Leader are simply discarded and ignored. Just this last week alone provided numerous, glaring examples of how this disturbing fact-denial process works.

Go read the whole thing...

I am sure someone will accuse me of being in fantasy land myself. After all, facts... At least those facts that don't jibe with carefully scripted realities for the Right, are always fantasy or conspiracy... in the eyes of these people. Like I said earlier today, it has GOT to be hard realizing what a monumental CHUMP you have been. It's the reason these people get so angry and bent out of shape when you point out the obvious to them. It's why it's allways a conspiracy by CBS or some other MSM outlet, who are OUT TO GET the President. There is NO possibility that they could be right.

Death and mayhem in Iraq - minimal... to be expected, better than death under Saddam. (Which in and of itself is ridiculous. Death is Death, and it does not matter who kills me, I am still dead!

Katrina - ALL the local bozos fault. And the Levees were breached, they did not overflow... Tell that to the guy who drowned, I dont think he cares much about that technicality.

Domestic Spying - Trust us. We are only looking out for your interest. Yeah I have lots of trust for an administration that has repeatedly lied.

Plamegate - Well you know, we can't be sure she was an undercover operative, can we. Well, her bosses say she was, and that's good enough for me.

Torture - Aw comeone, the so called torture was no worse than Fraternity Hazing. Eh, I was in two fraternities, and I was hazed pretty bad, but I dont remember dying... Nor do I remember having broomsticks shoved up my ass, or being beaten senseless. Must have missed that.

Gittmo - They are a bunch of terrorist, why worry about them. Oh, I'm sorry, I thought I heard of some cases of a couple folks being held for years and then released when it was found that they were mistakenly imprisoned.

Terry Shiavo - Poor woman, it was obvious with a little love an care she could have been saved. Uh huh, if you live in a town created by Steven King and you took her to the Pet Sematary.

And the insurgency is in it's last throes, Dick Cheney said so! Uh... Yeah...

No, the Bush LEGACY aint looking too good....

But on the other side... Hey, it's all sunshine and apple pie. If only us pesky Leftist Moonbats with have a cup of shut the fuck up!
