« LMAO! | Main | $100 For a Leather iPod Case? »

February 28, 2006
What a day!

My first task today was to buy a new cellular line for Grupo Utopia.
Yesterday, I paid $15 to an attorney to write up the fancy document filled with Government stamps, that gave me the right to buy a phone line in the name of the company I own!
Today I waited in line for two hours to buy it.
Afterward I treated my wife to a fantastic lunch at my favorite Brazillian Fogon (Steakhouse).
I was expecting a wire transfer from my bank in Guatemala today. I dont have an account in their Costa Rican affiliate, but some of the big wigs in Guata arranged the transfer as a favor.
Little did they know what idiots their Costa Rican counterparts are. Most Costa Rican white collar workers follow a strict by the book policy. If it aint in the freakin manual... dont expect them to show any independent thinking.
Anyway... I am writing this on my Palm, so let me cut to the chase.
Four hours later and after three calls to Guatemala, I had cash in hand...
Long day!
