Condemn all Muslims....

Racism may be out of vogue, but religion is another matter... I dont understand why Right Wingers can so broadly condemn an entire religion, while at the same time supporting the "liberation," of people who practice that religion. Someone want to explain that to me? Or is the next step "conversion," to Christianity?

I find the images Jay sites in his piece to be just as disturbing as he does, but WHY do we insist on branding every Muslim as a radical and terrorist, because of the actions of a fraction of them. Are all Christians terrorist because of the actions of the KLAN, or those on the Radical Christian Right who blow up abortion clinics?

Well, I tried to ping this article, but apparently my post contains "questionable content". Oh well.

David, if you have some counterexamples to cite, or perhaps a large group of Muslims condemning (or, at least, refusing to participate in) this sort of thing, I'm willing to listen.

More to the point, David:

The Crusades were over centuries ago. The Klan was NOT an overtly religious group; they were acting on social, political, and economic grounds, often under the color of religion. In fact, with one major exception, Klan leaders have been generally rejected and reviled by the general populace in the US for decades.

In short, David, Christianity grew up. I think it's long past due for Islam to grow the fuck up, and I'm tired of counting the bodies their "troubled adolescence" is piling up.

Most of them their fellow Muslims.

David-

If you believe that Jay is condemning an entire religion, then I think you missed the point. But beyond that, let me add this-

Where have you found Muslims broadly condemning the "actions of a fraction of them?"

In your examples, I think you could always find a vast majority of Christians condemning the Klan and the "Radical Christian Right's" "bombing of abortion clinics."

How you can even equate the latter with what is happening in the Muslim world is amazing to me. How many abortion clinics were bombed? (If you ask vast majority of Christians, the answer is, "ANY was too many.")

How many Christians did you find cheering in the streets when abortion clinics were bombed?

Does it still happen today on a regular basis?

And how many Christians condemn the bombing of abortion clinics compared to the number of Muslims condemning radical Islamist terror?

And don't EVEN accuse me of being anti-Muslim or pro-"Radical Christian Right." I am far from being either.

Marty, welcome back. It has been too long Bro. I will answer you and Jay this week, but it is going to be a tough week for me My Nigerian Prince. I have a number of Projects for GU going down that are going to require my 100% focus.
