Well so far it looks like only one Democrat is in trouble. But the Republicans are sweating bullets right now. Slate has a list.

From the same Slate article, there is a link that exposes what Abramoff thought of his "clients." I don't think Abramoff will be retiring to a Native American Reservation any time soon...

In emails now made public by the FBI, which is investigating him, Abramoff repeatedly refers to Native Americans as "monkeys", "troglodytes" and "idiots."

Abramoff via email once asked his conspirator Michael Scanlon to meet a client. The reason Mr. Abramoff couldn't do it because as put it "I have to meet with the monkeys from the Choctaw tribal council. You need to close the deal... with the client..."

About one tribal client (date unknown) Abramoff wrote to Scanlon, "These mofos are the stupidest idiots in the land for sure." In another e-mail message he wrote, "we need to get some money from those monkeys!!"

But none of this should really come as a surprise. It has been common knowledge for a while that ole Jack did not think too highly of his Native American clients.

As a side note, I suspect that Kevin's comments yesterday about Democrats needing to sweat a bit too, may turn out to be a great overstatement. Nevertheless, I expect that the big Conservative Blogs will ignore this story altogether, or try to spin it as, "EVERYONE is guilty of this." I saw a Clinton comment yesterday on another blog, and I expect that they will start to crop up as the massive damage to Republican credibility starts to become apparent.
