Condi for President?
Laura Bush has revealed for the first time whom she would like to see replacing her husband in the White House: Condoleezza Rice, the Secretary of State.

"I'd love to see her run. She's terrific," Mrs Bush said during an interview in which she predicted that for the first time a woman would soon be elected president of the US.

The First Lady, a powerful behind-the-scenes figure in American politics, is the most influential voice to speak in favour of a presidential bid in 2008 by Ms Rice.

I'd love to see her run too, Hillary would eat her for lunch.

So far all the polls say Hillary would beat Condi hands down and that is really saying something since Condi is THE ONLY Republican in this administration with good poll numbers. :)

She would whup her like the ugly stepchild that she is.

That's the thing I like about liberals. They actually believe opinion polls that are published three years before an election. You all basically talk to each other about how Hillary is going to whip Condi's butt. That's why John Kerry is President of Ohio, btw.

Condi would whip Hillary Clinton's last ass. How do I know this? Well, I saw Hillary a couple of days ago peddle the "Bush in the Bubble" meme on GMA, as if she had come up with the idea herself. Only she didn't. Her friends over at Newsweak did. So her people sat down with the libs over in the DNC's Propaganda Ministry, Newsweak Division, and decided to keep beating the "Bush is in the Bubble" story.

Now if Hillary was an original thinker, she might actually be able to pull it off. But she can't. She's NOT Bill. No amount of trying to bring Bubba back will turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. That man was a political genius. She's not. Condi would never make the mistake of peddling a ten day old news story as some sort of received wisdom. But Hillary does that everyday. Then she followed it up by paying Harry Belafonte props at a CDF banquet right after Harry got done licking the boot of Hugo Chavez, el Caudillo de Venezuela.

The way I heard it, Hillary tried to split the difference by making sure she didn't get her photo taken with Harry.

Dream on dude...

Yes, dear, dream on. While I like Condi and actually don't fall under the "liberal" camp (even though I don't mind being called one), Hillary would and will (given the opportunity) eat Condi's lunch and then barf it back up for her to consume later.

:)

I like that barf it back up part. LMAO!

Yep, all of you people are such great liberals. The time in history when (not just an African American) but an African American WOMAN has the chance to be elected to the highest position in office, the only thing you can say is how Hillary will "eat Condi's lunch."

Not only is Hillary out of touch with reality, as section9 has already shown. But this thread shows how out of touch the entire liberal left is. What have the "all inclusive," "fight for the little guy," "minority activist" democrats ever done for people like Rice, or Collin Powell, except spit in their faces and call them traders?

You would rather vote for a rich white girl from Illinois who had everything given to her than a daughter of a poor black preacher raised in the midst of racially torn Alabama. One word says it all, "Hypocrites".

I pray Condi runs... That way she will win... And the other black folks who don't go along with everything the left spoon feeds them will finally have a voice of their own in this society. I'm sorry libs' but American minorities are on the brink of a great awakening to the BS you've been feeding them. More and more great free thinkers such as Bill Cosby and Morgan Freeman are going to be calling you out and putting YOU on the stand.

What a crock of SHIT, first off, it demonstrates your own racism, typical conservative bullshit that you think as a Black Person I should vote for someone just because they are black. That is one of the stupidest things I have heard. If that were the case Sharpton would have won my vote last year. Secondly, Condi Rice showed how much she cared for poor black folks when she was shopping for $1000 a pair shoes in New York, while black folks were dying in New Orleans, so spare me the lecture.
I happen to respect Dr. Cosby and Morgan in some areas, but Morgan Freeman has played too many dope dealers and Steppin Fetchit Chauffers to Old Southern White women for me to take him as a replacement for Dr. King. And while I may be 20 years younger than both of them, I still remember things they and Condi Rice have long forgotten about being poor and black, so take your lecture elsewhere. Personally I am not a big Hillary fan, but I will vote for her over Condi Rice or Collin Powell, who sold out their principals to be part of an exclussive club, and at least in Powells case, lost all credibility in the process. Condi is such a good Sec of State, she was surprised by the recent elections in the Palestinian territories, something anyone who reads could have guessed, without the ASSETTS of the CIA to help them. Oh but I forgott, people in this administration dont read the news... Or based on what happened on 9/11, intelligence assessments either... You are dismissed...

David said, "What a crock of S*#%, first off, it demonstrates your own racism, typical conservative bullshit that you think as a Black Person I should vote for someone just because they are black."

You mean just how liberals think that people should get college funding just because they are black. Or how liberals think that some people should get jobs just because they are black. Or how some extreme liberals think they should get cold hard cash in their hands called "reparations" JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE BLACK. I never said it... liberals did... So watch your language.

It's basic liberal ideology called affirmative action. You call me racist when I was discussing another ideology that I don't fully believe in. I didn't say it; libs did. Its not about the color of your skin its about your ideology.

Then after that, you chastise someone because she doesn't act a certain way that you think a rich black person should act? What did you do when (not "black people") but PEOPLE where dieing in New Orleans. Did you happen to buy anything during that 2 week period? Did you go to work as you usually do? So what are you saying... because she's black she's supposed to walk around in Payless shoes and Resale-shop suits while she's holding conferences on national television? You are the one setting standards on how a black person should act. That by definition is racist.

I don't think I was necessarily talking to you David on my last post, because you seem to be somewhat of a moderate. You recognize that voting for someone because of the color of their skin would be wrong. But how is that different than giving someone a job, because of the color of their skin?

You recognize that me expecting a certain behavior from you (like voting for someone) purely because you are black is wrong. But how is that different than expecting a certain behavior from Rice (like buying shoes) purely because she is black? (By the way I never saw Sharpton taking off his $1000 penny lofers and jumping in the water either.)

All of these things are racist thoughts, and I don?t condone any of them. I believe in a color blind society, a society that judging someone by the "depths of their character and not by the color of their skin." But on the same note I think Rice is qualified for the job (if not over qualified) and would be a great president. I believe she can get their on her own merits, which is how it should be done. But if she gets there I don't see how anyone can argue that it wouldn't be a big step for America, but I have a feeling it will be the democrats who will, and that goes against their entire ideology which is by definition hypocritical.

And to make themselves feel better they say things like "shes not a real black person" or shes "forgotten" what it is to be black, because she buys $1000 shoes. Which in itself is racist, and further solidifies their hypocrasy.

Good points, BUT my point was not the cost of the shoes, it was the insensitivity of going on a shopping spree while the crisis was unfolding in New Orleans and elsewhere. But I am not surprised considering Mike Brown was more concerned about his dog and getting good Creole food while things were likewise coming apart. I don't stoop to the language of some of my compatriots in calling Rice names and such, but I think even her father, who was part of the Civil Rights struggle, while proud of her accomplishments, would be dissapointed in the fact that she has not done more to help blacks in this country.
On affirmative action, I have mixed emotions, and have discussed it many times before. I simply feel that it is all we have to balance the playing field until some visionary leader steps forward and offers a workable alternative. Dean Esmay has suggessted that Affirmative Action should be based on income. I believe I would support something along those lines, but would want to see more details.
And what did I do during Katrina? I did the best I could considering my location (Costa Rica), I posted relief links, donated myself and asked my readers to do so.
Finaly, I don't believe she would make a good President, she has simply been off the playing field on too many opportunities when she had an opportunity to show leadership. (9/11, Katrina, Iran, etc.)
