If it it the same letter or one similar to the one above, you probably have a fraud. Ask yourself these questions. Did you enter the Lottery, Do you have a ticket. There are no such things as "email" lotteries. They will ask you for a "processing fee, " steal a couple hundred dollars or thousand dollars from you and you will never hear from them again.

I received a letter from Bonanza 2000, Austrailian International Lotto. They enclosed what appears to be a company check from HRD Aero Systems, Inc for $2,998.15. They are requesting that I deposit this check and send them $2,828.00 to cover international clearance fees in order for me to collect my winnings of $80,199.00. I plan to take this check to the fraud dept of the post office.

This is a scam. We did a search for this info before we followed their instructions to send them the money from the check. Could not find anything on the web so we went through with it. My wife and I are now out 3000 dollars. Had to borrow money to pay the bank for the COUNTERFEIT check. DO NOT DO THIS. IT IS A SCAM. My wife and I are going to try to contact the news to get this info out there more. We are now broke forever...

My client received an official letter that does not refer to her e-mail account. The paper check looks real enough, and the directions are to contact a "claim agent" in Saskatoon. Of course, my client is supposed to keep this whole thing confidential.

I find that an easy way to quickly uncover a scam like this is to proof read the letter. Most scam artists are street-wise, but their spelling and grammar skills are ATROCIOUS! ("Assistance check of $2,998.46 is enclosed to enable you finance..." "unwaranted" "commision" "accreditted"). In other instances their use of the English language clearly shows that, despite the tremendous amount of money these people must have, they cannot afford to hire a proper, English-speaking grammarian or even some cheap software to run a spell-check.
Since uttering is a crime in Virginia, I am submitting the check to a local bank officer for disposition, and suggesting that it be forwarded as he sees fit to prosecute under local and federal statutes.

Today I recieved the similar letter posted above regarding I had won 2 million euros. I once responded by telephone to one of these scams and the first thing that they asked me for was a bank account number in order for them to electronically
deposit the funds into my account. When I asked them to just send me as check, I was told that they could not send out checks.

Today I contacted my bank and asked if they could set up an account with 5 dollars in it to see if these boneheads would clean out the account or actually deposit the 2 million euros. My bank informed me that if they deposited the check for 2
million euros and the check bounced, I would be held responsible for paying the bank back the 2 million euros. Another red flag going up is that the Lottery is for the Australian union Lottery, however the corospondence is coming from Amsterdam. The last time I checked, Amsterdam is in the Netherlands. Also this where all of the spam for child porno e-mails originate from. Could possibly be the same group. When I contacted American Online and reported this attempted fraud, I got the attitude of if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. They made no attempt to contact the proper authorities. We are on our own with these vipers.
DON'T GET BIT OR STUNG BY THESE THUGS. Contact your local police station with a printed version of your e-mail or a check if one is sent. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Hi my name is smarty from St Louis MO I received the same letter that you have in the mail I was a lil excited but not stupid excited to attempt to cash this real chek,, okay so what I did was some common sense moves .. such as I bank with the bank that the check was suppose to dispursed from Bank Of America I gave them the account number and ask if the account had the funds in it and if the account was valid they would not say the amount of funds but they did say that the account was not at valid.. So i then called the number on the letter -- a woman anwsered as though she was at home crazy she told me to hole on then she said can yuou call me back in 20 min, I said sure not thinking of course I waited --I called back to get a voice mail that said that we're closed ---- Basically we all are in need in one way are another and a free check seems good but we have to stay smart and pick up the phone---- GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT -- One Luv

What a scam--the check looks so real--I will be contacting our Public officers on Monday to let them have a look at it.

My sister just told me about the check this evening and asked me to do some investigating on the internet when I got home. I sent $2825.oo via Money Gram to a person in Otawah, Canada! I was told I would recieve my $80,199.00 the next day! Well, here it is a week later and no money! I call everyday and I get all kinds of runarounds! But now I am afraid if this is a scam what about the check I cashed? Any help please reply via e-mail!!! Thanks!!!

I received the exact same emails they sent to other people dated 15th Apr 2006 with same serial # except for the coordinator's name Susan Davies and same email sent to other person again dated 5th June 2006 but with different agent's name Rev. Thank god for this site. My dad lives in AR and he got a check from Bank Of America and Allstate. It was for $5,000. They wanted him to deposit the check and send them $2,500 via western union to cover the insurance costs. My question is, if the check DOES clear and he DOES NOT send the money to them...then what?

I just received the lotto letter with a check enclosed. I am going to take it to the US Bank to see if the check will clear, if it does, then I just got almost $3000 and they got a dose of their own fraud. I just recieved an Irish Random Lotto Winning Certificate. If anyone recieves this IT IS A SCAM!! I have done the research, there were spelling mistakes, wrong addresses in the wrong states. Its crazy. I have talked to the Better Buisiness Bureau and the Consumer Affairs office. Do not cash that check and send it because you WILL be responsible for paying that money back to the bank when they find out that it was a fake check. And yes the check does look real. Believe me, people can do anything and make anything look real these days. Please watch out and don't get yourselves into financial chaos!!

seemed very fishy fro the beginning since I liv in Romania. How could I win something on an australian lottery? never buy tickets or anything.
The grammar of the letter was horrible. It's very similar to what was posted here before.

i got the same email i told them to donat my prize for the poor hhhhhhhhhhhh take care ppl .

well I think the ones behind all these scams should be arrested and be made to pay all the money back to the people they have ruied their lives. I got one and luckly I have done nothing on sending any money back to them. so far my bank has not called me to tell me that it isnt real. but I am not going to take chances. its there. and I have not spent a dime. so here is to the scamers. lol

I have received a similar letter yesterday in the mail. with the only difference that I won lol 6,800,000.00 imagine! it says that is a tax free drew. it says this must be kept away from publiciy. My OSA Agent is William Jones, williamjones722@yahoo.co.uk it also says that they will advice me on how the insurance works and also informed that 10% of my lottery winning belongs to the UK PACIFIC BONDS AND CREDITOORS. Because the are the company that bought my ticket and played it in my name. it also says that 10% will be remitted after I have received my winnings prize because the money will be insured in my name. that the unclaimed funds after the date stated will be cancelled and will be included in the next stake. it also says if any change in address to inform them as soon as possible.. this letter was signed by hand by MARY ROBERTS(maryroberts@yahoo.co.uk she's supposed to be the vice president. Australian International Lottery Company. they also gave another fax number on the bottom of the letter: 011448701207156. I contacted this william jones and he asked me for my name, age, ocupation,address, phone number and thats it . waiting for my check. lol. well if I ever get one what should I do. I received a check from PGR Media in the amount of $2,995.60. I call the number on there and of course, they were rude. I E-mailed PGR Media also and am awaiting a reply. Telphone #011-353-857854687. My boyfriend got the same letter-however the stamp was from Canada but the Lotto was supposedly from Ireland instead of Austrailia. Well as they say-if it sounds too good to be true then it probablly is.

My husband received one of these scams today. This one is the British Random Lotto. The letter and the check are identical to the scams listed above. Knowing that he had not entered anything like this I started investigating on line and found this site in addition to a news article on the British Random Lotto stating it's a scam. In today's society you can't afford to trust anything. Stay Sharp!

My Husband just got one of these in the mail today and It said it Was the Bonnaza 200 Lottery..lolol..The thing that first catched my eye on the check(Upper left hand corner) was the fact that the name of the company was called"Airsept"..This is a Car parts Company!!LMAO..WEll I took it ruight to Wachovia since that was the bank it was drafted from to let them know about this and she had said that just at their location alone they have been geting about 10-15 of them a month..She also said that this one older gentleman had sent 18,000 to one of thiese lottery scams since after he wired the money they kept telling him needed to send more,,and despite everyone telling him including the bank that it was a fraud he continued on..Well The teller called the Owner Of Airsept while we were standing there and he stated that he had been getting at least 10 calls an hour regarding the checks..Apparenty his account number or his buisness checks were stolen and the scam peopple copy the checks with this guys company account number..So basically if you go to the bank the check seems it was drafted from they will not cash it..But if you go to your bank, they will deposit it but it will bounce, you can possibly get into trouble and now you have already sent the scam lotto your 3,000.00!!
PLEASE Now I must go,,I am going to Call MS. Debra Jones up in Canda and let her know that I just wired that money they requested and I will even give her a fake reference number, now the joke can be on her for a minute..LMAO!!

i got a check in the msil for the amount of 4800.00 from bnknorth, it was dated sept,30,06
and the letter enclosed stated thst i needed to deposit it by the 6th of oct otherwise the funds would go to other charitable foundations. being in need of money and out of time, i deposited it, but have not touched it yet. i am still waiting to see if it is a scam or not. what do you think? i was told that the check had to be deposited in order to verify that i was the right person, and a bank could prove that. they also needed me to call them after the check had cleared through my bank so they could send the rest of my reward for the amount of 49,000.00 via mail. they asked for no personal info, but my name and current address.

I have recieved a phone call telling me I have 2.9 million dollars in the Australian lottery. The woman calling was a Sally Ashton. She has said she will visit me on Jan 30 to take me out to dinner. Hey I was just wondering, is this for real or not. Juuuust kidding. I received something similar in my mailbox (not e-mail, this was a real letter and a paper check). It said I had won $200,000 for my participation in a sweepstakes at Wal-Mart. I didn't participate in anything. In the letter a check for $2,700 was enclosed. The man I talked to, supposedly "Tim Parker" (he was Indian), said that I just needed to send $2,900 via MoneyGram to a lady named "Pamela Ardent" in Ottowa, Canada. I told him that I was employed with the U.S. Government ( a lie, of course) and that there was a trace on this call, and he immediately hung up, and blocked my telephone number from calling him again. People, DO NOT buy into this stuff. It has SCAM written all over it.
