Taking "An Eye for an Eye," quite literally...
From The Jawa Report: (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) A Saudi Arabian court sentenced a 32-year-old Indian migrant worker, Puthen Veetil Abdul Latheef Noushad, to have his eye gouged out as punishment for blinding a Saudi man in a fight. Apparently, Noushad was working at a gas station when he got into a fight with a Saudi customer regarding the bill. The Saudi man lost his eyesight from injuries sustained in the fight. Remind me again why the Saudi's are not classified as Axis of Evil? Posted by David A at December 26, 2005 10:16 PM

OK, I'll remind you: the Saudis don't pose an imminent threat to their neighbors, and don't aggressively pursue an expansionist agenda. They quietly export their problems, and they sit on about 25% of the world's known oil reserves. They're on the list. But one doesn't use the same tools for every problem. They'll get theirs soon enough. But one doesn't do everything all at once. Once we have Iraq stabilized, and the Iraqis themselves fortify their own border with Saudi Arabia, the oil ticks will have one less ready outlet for their whackos. And if we ever get ANWR oil drilling going, that'll be another subtle blow to them. J. Posted by: Jay Tea at December 27, 2005 07:27 AM Well, remember how many of the 19 9/11 Hijackers were Saudi. And many would say that their exportation of Wahabiism is the primary driver to world terrorism. Posted by: David Anderson at December 27, 2005 01:16 PM Post a comment
