Tearing apart the myths of Katrina's victims!

This is MUST READ!

Hat tip to Crooks and Liars!

If you bought into the racist dribble about the poor in New Orleans getting what they deserved, read the post and make up your own mind.

David, David, David...don't be so gullible!

Arthur starts out by setting up a strawman about how bad America is, then sets up another one about how mean Conservatives are in regards to poor, black New Orleanians. Nary a link to be found (save the Tim Wise article he quotes, but the Wise article is completely bereft of links), but tons of (unsubstantiated) accusations.

I couldn't read the whole thing. Virtually all of what I did read struck me as "Conservatives are evil, so even though I offer no evidence that what I write is true, you, my faithful readers, know in your heart of hearts that Conservatives are evil, so trust me when I tell you these things."

And, of course, since I'm conservative, I'm too stupid to read such a long polemic. My lips would get tired and my fingertip would get sore* if I actually tried to work my way through the whole thing. So disregard anything I might say.

* If that's too obscure, I understand. I can be that way sometimes. My lips are sore because I, as a stupid Conservative, mouth the words as I read them, and my fingertip is sore because I can't keep my place in the text without following along with my finger.

And I breathe through my mouth, too. Oh, and my knuckles drag the ground. I'm just a Neanderthal. Y'know, one of those cavemen in the Geico commercials. (Sorry if you haven't had a chance to see them, David.)
