Ooops....

Time Reporter Says He Learned Agent's Identity From Rove.... And "Turdblossom," may soon have some 'splainin' to do as well!

While even rational right wing bloggers continue to beat the dead Wilson horse, trying desperately to make this about Wilson, instead of about members of the sitting administration outting a Covert CIA agent, the story is slowly starting to come out, and I wager that a whole lot of people are going to be eating crow pretty soon, or looking like the partisan hacks that they are...

Ah, memo to the Rightspere... "The only people who are buying the Wilson as bad guy crap anymore, are those drinking from the same Kool Aide cup.

Sorry, dude, but if you compare Wilson's NYT statements to his SSCI statements, it's obvious that he lied. He even admitted it in the SSCI report. (SSCI link here. In the NYT report he says that the VP sent him; in the SSCI report he says that he was recommended by the old lady.

And Valerie Plame does not fit the definition of a covert agent found here.

All of the innuendo and hurling of epithets don't change the print nor do they change Mr. Wilson's own words.

And, since I do have some passing familiarity with how intelligence agencies operate and how important procedure is, I can and will continue to be appalled at the decade(s)-long sloppiness of the CIA--I would think that you folks on the left would be too, considering what the CIA has missed in that time period.

And when you want to send out an "I told you so," please refrain from using my name. I have said that Libby deserves punishment if guilty of the five counts and haven't given an opinion on whether Rove is guilty or not. If he is, him too, but it shouldn't be necessary to put "if-guilty-of-perjury-Libby-and-Rove-should-fry" on every single post. People with reasonably good memories should be able to deduce that.

What reasonable and intelligent folks also should be able to figure out is this: the possible mendacity of the parties on the right doesn't exclude the same of the left (and vice versa).

Unless you said the above stuff merely to get me to come over and comment. If so, carry on. :-)

Wow, David, don't be so willing to drink your own brand of Kool Aid.

How can this whole thing not be about Wilson? Plus, you're assuming facts not in evidence (I've been reading several blawgs lately, so forgive my lawyer-esque terminology) when it comes to Plame's covert or not-covert status, and lastly, it's quite clear that Wilson is a liar, since his NYT op ed is 180° out from his report to the CIA on his Niger mission.

You're smarter than letting your heart overrule your brain in these matters, David.

Aren't you?

J, of course I wanted you to comment. ;-)

But I stand by my assertion that whatever Wilson said did not warrant outting his wife as a CIA operative.

Well it is and isnt about Wilson. It is about "getting" Wilson, it is not about Wilson allegedly lying, which I still have seen no proof that he did.
