Number What?

USC flipped the bird at the BSC Computers today, showing once again why they are the real number one team in the country.

Um, beating a 5-3 team is staking a claim to a championship?

Better hope the BCS successfully keeps the Tide from rolling all the way to the championship game...a perfect record in the SEC (currently with 7 teams in the top 25) means one badass team.

I don't think USC wants any.

Hehe, Bo, you are dreamin'!

Actually, David, I'm dreaming of a day when this type of argument might be resolved. The BCS may truly have a place, but I fail to see where teams whose records include other top-20 teams (2 more for 'Bama, 1 for VaTech) likely won't get a shot at USC because of Texas, who doesn't play any ranked teams for the rest of the season.

BCS should set up a "top eight" bracket, 2 weekends of playoffs would then whittle it down to an undisputed Championship bowl game.

Of course, there wouldn't be any way to work in Notre Dame to a major bowl, so that'll never fly.

I'm still a little bitter over LSU having to split the championship a couple years ago when the #1 and #3 teams played in the "championship" game.

Actually I completely agree with you.
