This is what is wrong with America... That Millions of Americans have forgotten what this country is suppossed to stand for... That questioning the status quo is not only part of our national heritage, but indeed is part of our national responsibility. That there are so many Americans who are just willing to swallow Administration Talking Points whole, not to mention getting extremely defensive and even angry, when others don't, is a national outrage.

I sometimes wonder what the hell happened to my country. A country where people are naturaly skeptical about government. A country where people WANT to know the truth, no matter how painful it may be.

The long term legacy of 9/11 may be that it was the day we gave up as a Nation. Maybe the terrorist did win, and we just don't realize it. The bottom line is that we have become all too willing to accept the unacceptable, just because we have been led to believe that it is in the interest of our own self preservation.

This piece on Raw story is a perfect example of what I am talking about.
