The Rove Factor...
Wizbang has the first spin on the story breaking today about Karl Roves involvement in the outing of a CIA agent. Wizbang's conclusion: So Lawrence O'Donnell's breathless allegations were all much ado about nothing. I would say that the article is being very cautious. It is clear that Rove had something to do with the case. To what degree remains in question. I am not ready to stand on the rooftops and demand his prosecution, but I am not ready to say he is off the hook either. Posted by David A at July 3, 2005 12:37 PM

I believe that when Rove testified before the grand jury, he was asked to sign a document releasing any journalists from any pledge of confidentiality he might have received, and freeing them to divulge every single detail of their discussions. Rove signed it, under penalty of perjury. Further, Rove's conversations with Novak took place AFTER the publication of his column naming Plame. Odd, how no one has taken Rove's signed agreement, gone directly to Novak, and asked HIM if Rove was his source... J. Posted by: Jay Tea at July 3, 2005 05:35 PM Correction: Rove said he didn't mention Plame until AFTER the Novak column, not that he didn't talk to Novak. Regardless, it is exculpatory evidence. J.
