Jack is right!
As he usually is. And somehow I feel a bit dirty for even getting this started. I should have just ignored it. My dearest friend in the Blogsphere, and a lady a lot smarter than I, is always getting on my case for letting certain people bait me. I am sure she is just shaking her head right now in disgust. Anyway, I am done. There are some places I do not need to go, for the sake of my own blood pressure, and like Jack, I just need to stop reading Wizbang, as so many others have. So thanks Jack, for being a friend, for being rational, and for reminding me of the futility of some debate. Hatred can not be debated. It can not be reasoned with, and it can rarely be changed. God Bless... Posted by David A at July 19, 2005 02:00 PM

As they say here in France, "de rien", or don't worry about it (a free, nonliteral translation). It's easy for folks who haven't been subject to the effects of racism (I don't say victim because I don't believe you have ever allowed yourself to be a victim) to understand what power racist language has. Believe it or not, I have been subject to the unpleasant side of racism, and I can dimly relate to your anger. I learned the hard way, however, that posting in anger can lose you more than your point, it can lose friends you have never met. I have lost a friend I have never met, and my life is diminished for it. So, as I said, don't think twice about it, this was something I could relate to but had a caveat I felt needed to be shared. All the best. -Jack Posted by: Jack I agree. Kudos to Jack and Rogue for their sound advice. There are lots of blogs I don't read; they just piss me off and I am neither informed nor entertained by them. Posted by: The Commissar at July 19, 2005 02:58 PM Well, both of you are people I respect, as is Rogue, and I need to just remember to ignore these people. Thanks for reminding me. Did you guys see the article from Financiero? Pretty damned cool heh? Posted by: David Anderson at July 19, 2005 03:13 PM As you know, I haven't really been blogging or reading blogs of late so I didn't really know what was going on. But, you are right about what I would say about it. I have told you for sometime now to just ignore Paul and that site. The only reason they exist is to be controversial, raise some eyebrows and blood pressure, and show their ignorance on all things political, social, and intellectual. Posted by: Rogue at July 19, 2005 04:33 PM Rogue- Paul is not the only writer at Wizbangblog, and I'm sorry, but ALL political bloggers exist to be controversial, show their stuff on all things political, social, and intellectual. (You say ignorance, but I'm sure there are those who would say the same about you, me, David, or any other blogger.) Though you may disagree with much or most of their content, and I may agree with much or most of their content, it is a stretch to say that they don't do anything of value. They bring mostly a strong game to the things they discuss. That is probably why David reads them and has respect even in disagreement with Kevin and Jay Tea. Paul just gets a lot of people's "goat" and especially David's. Posted by: Marty at July 19, 2005 09:07 PM Marty, I have read them and their commenters. The only value I find in their blog, if you want to call it value, is that they inspire people to act as base as possible and let their real feelings fly. Regardless of how insulting, derogatory, ignorant, racist, hateful they are. And, I am quite aware that there are three writers there and have never understood David's respect for them or their blog. Regardless of how insulting, derogatory, ignorant, racist, hateful they are." Sounds just like Daily Kos or Democratic Underground to me. (But not nearly as hateful...) That is the funny thing about this game. People tend to consider themselves as the intelligent, thoughtful ones and those with other opinions are often just insulting, derogatory, ignorant, and hateful. And of course racist if you are from the left talking about the right. (That is almost a required debate killer when things really get heated.)
